Kelly Smith started mistress du jour in the spring of 2007, with a vision of creating the lowcountry's finest catering service to serve smaller groups and occations. Trained by true southern women and published author and chef Betsy Broome, Kelly infuses every dish she creates with her extensive knowledge and passion for perfection.
After eight years in restaurant service and hospitality, Kelly began cooking for family and friends and helping those close to her in the kitchen she began to extend her personal and friendly service. Once word of her tasty signature dishes got out, offers from locals landed on her plate.
Kelly Smith began a career as the culinary mistress preparing quality meals with local southern flavors. She was given room to experiment, and created quite an eclectic menu. She knew that she wanted to step beyond the kitchen and create memorable experiences for people in their own home.
